Same day couriers pay a vital role in keeping London moving. In an effort to keep London clean, TFL are soon to introduce the new ultra low emission zone (ULEZ), which means all parcel delivery companies that provide couriers in London will be required to update their same day courier vehicles in order to comply with the new regulations. If parcel delivery companies do dot comply, each bike and van courier vehicle which is not ULEZ compliant will have to pay the new £12.50 daily charge to drive into the London ULEZ zone.
Parcel delivery companies, Mission Despatch included, have been researching alternative vehicles to ensure they comply with the ULEZ. This in itself is a challenge. There are different types of vehicles available to the parcel delivery market such as hybrid and electric, however, in the case of fully electric range is still an issue. Mission Despatch has just purchased a fully electric Renault Kangoo ZE Maxi van, which provides an impressive range of 110 miles. This will be the first of many clean green parcel delivery courier vehicles we will be adding to our fleet in the coming months and years.
